View the following categories:
"A" Frames or Tri-Fold frame
This is the model that started the futon revolution. It is both easy to operate and a space-saving frame that can double as a simple chair and covert to a bed. This style converts like an expanding telescope. All these frames come in hard woods, with or without arms.
Bi-fold or Couch Style Frames
The cornerstone of today’s futon frames. Comes in a variety of woods, finishes and fashionable styles to fit your décor. There are three basic operational mechanisms in these frames. Most styles come with matching loveseats, chair and ottomans.
Front Operating
One of the two most common of all couch-style frames. The front operating futon frame comes in many different styles ranging from contemporary, modern, traditional, classic, shaker, and many more. We carry a large selection of colors from dark mahogany to light maple. Also, this frame contains the ability to convert to a lounger position. This frame is by far the easiest to operate of all the futon frames.
Back Operating
This is the second most common of all the couch style frames. It comes in similar colors and styles as the front loading frame, and has the ability to convert to the lounger position like the front loading frames. These frames take a little more muscle and effort to convert from a bed back to the couch position.
Wall Hugging Frames
Like its name implies, these frames literally hug the wall and operate by folding out away from the wall. There are fewer stylistic choices available in this category but still a very handsome piece of furniture.
Loveseat/Lounger frames
These frames are by far the most versatile of all the futon frames offering three distinct positions. (loveseat, lounger and bed). They are the most elegant in their ability to use space. They are the epitome of space-saving frames, and come in an extensive variety of styles and finishes. These frames generally use a split futon cushion.
Metal Frames
These frames are limited in style, versatility and durability. All are imported in low-grade metal with no warranty. However, they are typically the least expensive option. These frames are extremely lightweight and require an innerspring futon to be used with them.
Rattan Frames
These frames are made with rattan or wicker, and utilize either the front operating or back operating mechanism. They have a real tropical feel and are quite classy. All sizes are available and with the right cover your futon sofa will look as if it just came back from an island vacation.
